The College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow seeks to inaugurate a PhD scholarship to honour the work of Professor Andy Furlong.

The Professor Andy Furlong scholarship will comprise a 100% tuition fee waiver and stipend at the full RCUK rate for three years and will be awarded in a field of research related to and reflecting the many and path-breaking contributions made by Professor Furlong to understanding the impact of social inequalities, with a particular focus on young people and labour markets.

We welcome applications that seek to address this broad field, and that come from a range of disciplinary perspectives. Proposals should be submitted by academic members of staff at the University of Glasgow, but there are no geographical restrictions on the nationality or domicile of the scholarship holder, so prospective students – from wherever they come – who wish to apply for this scholarship should in the first instance make contact with academics at Glasgow.

Applicants should complete the application form, attach CVs of both the primary supervisor and the prospective student, and submit to the College Graduate School by 10.59pm on 10th June 2018.
