Peter Klein is a CBT therapist based in Richmond, London, who specialises in anxiety and OCD. He has practised full time as a psychotherapist since 2012 and offers sessions in person, by phone and online. He works in both English and German and has treated clients ranging from students to senior policy makers.
His main approach is the UCL Case Formulation model. This gives a tailored, non diagnosis driven understanding of each person’s difficulties rather than a standard protocol. He also draws on acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion focused therapy, schema therapy and evolutionary psychology. The aim is to identify patterns that keep problems going and to supply simple, practical tools that remain usable even when someone is distressed.
He previously worked as a full time psychotherapist at the Priory Hospital, where he ran individual and group programmes for OCD, anxiety and depression. He founded the UK therapy room marketplace Rent A Therapy Room and the free therapist matching service Seek A Psych.
Peter Klein has appeared in The Guardian, Yahoo News, Fortune Magazine, Huffington Post, and the Metro. He has also published in scientific journals and works to share useful insights from cognitive behavioural therapies with the wider public.
His training includes a BSc (Hons) in psychology, an MA in intelligence research, CBT training at the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre and a PGDip in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. He holds full BABCP accreditation. This pathway is designed to match the requirements for becoming a psychotherapist or clinical psychologist in Germany.
