With the school holidays on the horizon, Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som is launching a series of educational summer camps geared towards young adventurers aged 6–16.

Whether dedicated to sports, self-development, team building, problem-solving, language, nutrition, yoga, music, or dance, each of the 10 summer camps has been designed to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being in school-going kids as they build confidence, explore new passions, and brush up on existing skills.

From fitness and culture to emotional intelligence and nutritional education, each camp provides participants with skills and experiences that promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Building upon Zulal Wellness Resort’s dedication to wellbeing for all ages, the summer camps also provide an environment in which children and teens can develop lifelong habits and values. Stepping out of their daily routines, they are immersed into a world that fosters personal growth, resilience and an appreciation for wellness.

The Zulal Wellness Resort summer camps for kids offer an unforgettable escape where children will thrive in a supportive and enriching setting, returning home with new skills, friendships, and a refreshed outlook, ready for the rest of the summer and prepped for the academic school year ahead.

Available as part of Zulal Wellness Resort’s pioneering family wellness retreats as well as on a day-to-day basis, the summer camps are centred on the belief that individual wellness is intrinsically linked to fulfilling family life and the ability to build meaningful relationships. By encouraging an active lifestyle, normalising good nutrition and introducing as well as developing mindfulness, breathing techniques and meditation, children are inspired to engage with and explore healthy and sustainable lifestyle habits.

Further enhancing the dedicated family wellness offering at the resort’s Discovery Oasis, the upcoming summer camps include:

Swim camp 

Dates: 19th–23rd June 2024
Participants will learn essential water safety skills, practice swimming drills, develop underwater coordination and work on physical fitness. They will also gain confidence in the water, and the camp will include team-building activities that foster social interaction. The additional well-being benefits of this swimming camp include improved sleep and deep relaxation.
Age group: 6–12 years.

Thai boxing camp

Dates: 26th–30th June 2024
Boys and girls will let loose, learn discipline, and build confidence with Muay Thai moves that focus on the body and mind in this kid-proof boxing camp adapted for all ages and abilities. Known as the Science of Eight Limbs, Thai boxing is a martial art which demonstrates technical skill, flexibility, strength, and stamina while honouring and respecting opponents. Cultural awareness and teamwork are integrated into this camp, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience in both sports and life skills.
Age group: 6–12 years.

7 habits of happiness

Dates: 3rd–7th July 2024
This summer camp has been designed for teenagers by Franklin Covey Education, the team behind the popular seven habits of highly effective people, and instills seven key habits for a happy and successful life. In a workshop setting with accredited facilitators, participating teens will be guided  by positive psychology principles and learn how to develop a growth mindset, practice daily gratitude, and build healthy relationships. 7 habits of happiness also promotes the importance of self-care, effective communication, realistic goal setting and resilience.
Age group: 13–16 years.

Dance camp 

Dates: 10th–14th July 2024
Focusing on fitness and flexibility, this camp comprises a week of rhythm and movement combined with expressive communication that will boost confidence and self-esteem. Through Afro beats, Zumba and samba, children will improve coordination and motor skills, enjoy social connection and collaboration, learn outlets for frustration and stress, balance their emotional wellbeing and celebrate body positivity and acceptance.
Age group: 6–12 years.

Music camp

Dates: 17th–21st July 2024
This music camp is five fun days of beats, creativity, and cultural exploration, using various musical instruments for ear training and fine motor skills. The camp encourages creative exploration and cognitive development for a deeply enriching experience as kids learn how to read notes and improve perception and attention.
Age group: 6–12 years.

Introduction to mindfulness

Dates: 24th–28th July 2024
Through yoga, breath work and Tai Chi for kids, this camp introduces mindfulness and movement to promote physical wellbeing and flexibility. It focuses on stress reduction, relaxation, improved concentration and the mind-body connection. Participants will build confidence and self-esteem, learn healthy posture, and correct body alignment while acquiring tools for stress management. This camp is ideal for kids entering exam years at school.
Age group: 6–12 years and 13–16 years.

Arabic language camp

Dates: 31st July–4th August 2024
Unlocking cultural connections, communications skills and global perspectives, this camp expands horizons by focusing on language acquisition and cultural immersion. Kids will learn basic vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar structure through interactive lessons and activities. Activities also promote cognitive development, celebrate linguistic diversity, and strengthen family connections, preparing children to thrive in this globally connected world.
Age group: 6–12 years and 13–16 years.

Healthy bites: Learn how to prepare a nutritious lunchbox 

Dates: 7th–11th August 2024
Nutrition and cooking classes are at the core of this camp, as kids learn how to create balanced meals and snacks. Engaging kids in the kitchen, the activities educate them on nutritional benefits and offer a variety of tastes to suit different palates. With top tips for meal planning and school-friendly recipes, this camp is ideal for instilling positive eating habits in youngsters.
Agegroup: 6–12 years and 13–16 years.

Soccer camp

Dates: 14th–18th August 2024
Unlocking potential on and off the pitch, this football camp will develop physical fitness, teamwork, and social skills. It aims to boost confidence, support cognitive development, and provide stress relief while planting the seeds for a lifelong love for physical activity and offering participants skills that extend well beyond the sports field.
Age group: 6–12 years and 13–16 years.

Building emotional intelligence 

Dates: 21st–25th August 2024
Tailored for older children, these sessions help to develop self-awareness and emotional management skills. Through discussions, debates, workshops and interactive sessions, participants will develop skills to improve empathy, learn effective communication, and develop conflict resolution skills. Building emotional intelligence activities will also help with self-development, expressing emotions, stress management techniques, conflict resolution, building positive relationships, goal setting and motivation, and cultivating a positive mindset. The ideal summer camp is to support teenagers as they begin to build a sense of identity for a healthy adulthood.
Age group: 12–16 years.

Zulal Wellness Resort’s family-friendly activities are crafted to promote personal and inter-familial growth, ensuring a memorable and enriching summer escape.

The camps include overnight accommodation, three wellness cuisine meals per night of stay, and daily age-appropriate group activities. Kids must be accompanied by a parent when staying at Zulal Wellness Resort’s Zulal Discovery.
