Laser hair removal is an effective, fast and relatively painless way to remove unwanted hair from the body. Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light to remove hair from the body. It is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in London.

People with light-colored skin and dark-colored hair benefit the most from laser hair removal, but it can help people of all skin types and tones. Laser treatments may not be effective for people with extremely dark skin tones because the laser cannot penetrate deeply enough into their skin to reach their hair follicles.

There are two types of lasers used in laser hair removal: Alexandrite and Nd: YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet). These lasers are both effective at removing unwanted hair. But they have different wavelengths and depths of penetration.

Alexandrite lasers have a longer wavelength than Nd: YAG lasers, which allows them to penetrate deeper into the skin before reaching the hair follicle.

Am I a good candidate for this procedure?

Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that permanently reduces or eliminates unwanted body hair. Laser hair removal works by targeting and destroying the dark pigment, or melanin, in the hair follicle.

Laser hair removal is most effective on people with lighter complexions and darker hair. Because of this, it is important to discuss your options with your physician prior to treatment so he/she can determine if you are an appropriate candidate.

If you have lighter skin and dark hair it is possible that you will not be able to achieve significant results. However, using a combination of lasers may increase your likelihood of success.

Benefits of laser hair removal

Laser hair removal is a long-lasting solution for unwanted hair. The process uses laser energy to destroy the root of the hair follicle, which prevents regrowth. It’s a safe, effective and permanent solution to remove hair in areas where waxing and shaving can be difficult or impossible.

The treatment works by passing laser energy through the surface of the skin, targeting dark pigmented hair. Once absorbed by the hair shaft, it heats up the follicle until it seals over, stopping any regrowth.

  • Permanent results
  • No more shaving or waxing
  • Feel great, look great
  • Gentle, pain free treatments
  • Suitable for all skin types

Is it a permanent hair removal solution?

Laser hair reduction is a long-term, but not permanent solution. Laser hair reduction is not a permanent hair removal solution because it does not destroy the hair follicle completely, but just damages it. Hence, it is only a temporary solution for unwanted hair.

Laser hair reduction is also referred to as laser epilation or laser hair removal. It uses a laser beam to target and damage the dark pigment in the root of the hair follicle and thereby restrict its growth. However, there are chances that the affected area may regrow. Especially if the affected follicle has not been destroyed completely during the procedure.

The main advantage of laser hair reduction over other methods such as waxing and shaving is that it provides long-term results and hence saves time and money in comparison to other methods.

The disadvantage of laser treatment over other methods such as waxing or shaving is that it can be painful depending on where exactly you want your face or body treated and how sensitive your skin is.
