Travelling is one of the many things that people love to do. When the pandemic started, the government added some restrictions to the public. The world suddenly stopped, and many lives were affected. Travels were banned in many countries, and some did not bother to close their borders to limit the entering of foreign citizens.
Before, requirements for international travel were not that hard to get. A passport or sometimes a visa will do, but with what is happening today, going to another country is impossible without a Covid test.
That is why you need to know everything when you plan to travel nowadays as each country has a set of rules that everyone must obey and follow. It also means that you have to understand and be aware of all the possible changes in travel conditions. It may be challenging, but the good part about this is you can now less your worries as some cases have
progress.
On 1st July 2021, the European Union’s Digital Covid Certificate (EUDCC) was effective. This is for all EU citizens and specific travellers from other third-world countries. Some may wonder if they can travel to European counties with vaccination cards.
EU Covid passport
When you travel, it is good to keep new things in mind. For instance, if you don’t know what an EU Covid passport is, you should ask and research about it first. Knowing them will avoid confusion in the future.
This travel certificate is a one-page document for EU nationals who have received their full shots of vaccines against Covid. However, the vaccine should have the approval of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). It must be a Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Janssen.
People who receive a negative result from a Covid test or recover from the virus can also get the said certification. This can be accepted in all EU Members States. People who contain this certificate may be exempted from some travel restrictions.
When travelling, how can you use your EU Covid passport?
People need to carry their Covid passport certificate in paper format or digitally. You can move freely inside the EU once you have this. The downside of this is when you fail to present one before travelling, you may be subjected to restriction. To prevent fraud or falsification, the passport needs to have a digital signature of a holder.
Other protocols
In European countries, there have been Passenger Locator Forms (PLFs) used by public health authorities. This aims to facilitate contact tracing if travellers are exposed to the virus. Therefore, all the information that travellers give can be used by public authorities to contact you quickly. All your information is secured and protected, but for the sake of every traveller around you, it will be used to prevent any possible spread of the virus.
Covid is a severe disease that can cause death. This is the reason why everyone should strictly follow the protocols. Regarding restrictions, it is unique because the government pushed through with it to protect people from any severe symptoms of the said virus. Any advance research about certain regulations is much appreciated in these trying pandemics.
Until now, the government is still improving everything for the masses. Yes, you can now travel with a vaccination card in Europe; however, always remember that the virus is still around. So, it would be better to practice social protocols still.
