Do you know that about 1,600 US youth under the age of 18 years old smoke their first cigarette every day? Nearly half a million Americans die prematurely from smoking complications each year as well.

With these statistics in mind, it is never too late to try and quit smoking for good. Quitting will help ensure that you live a healthier lifestyle and help you not join one of those statistics.

Here’s a great app that uses self-hypnosis to quit smoking

How can self-hypnosis help you quit smoking?

Self-hypnosis can help you quit smoking because people tend to feel more comfortable in their own space than in the space set out by other people in a room.

Your self-hypnosis session will help you create an unpleasant situation when it comes to smoking. Each session is around 20 minutes and the app will help guide you through the whole hypnotic journey.

The journey is based on three main ideas namely:

  • Smoking poisons the body
  • You need your body to love
  • You should respect your body enough to protect it

Once you have gone through a hypnosis journey, your subconscious will start to send signals to you that will remind you about the dangers of smoking. After a few sessions, you will start to feel the full effect of your self-hypnosis treatment.

Are there any side effects from hypnosis?

There are no clinical side effects from hypnosis. The nice thing about self-hypnosis is that you feel like you are in control the entire time. If you are feeling uncomfortable, you can slowly come out of the meditation, drink some water, and try again.

People have reported that they feel like they are relaxed after a session. Their desire to smoke slowly goes away and the more they use the hypnosis app, the weaker their desire becomes.

How long before you start to see results with this application?

This will depend on you and your self-discipline. If you follow the app as instructed, you can see results almost immediately. Each session lasts around 20 minutes, so it will not take up a lot of time in your day. It will take up to 6 months or longer for you to get the full benefit of the self-hypnosis treatment but remember, when done correctly, you will be able to quit for good.

You need to be prepared to put in the work in order for you to get the best results possible. Quitting can be difficult, and you will have days whereby you are more tempted than other days. This is normal! Remind yourself that you are stronger than your desire to harm your body.

Takeaway

Self-hypnosis has been clinically proven to help combat smoking addiction. You need to want to quit in order for any form of treatment to work. Stay positive and remember that you are in fact able to beat your addiction and come out on top! A determined mind will become victorious.
