A new radio show focusing on men’s mental health and well-being has got off to a fantastic start with forthcoming guests to include a prominent expert on mental health in the workplace and an Institute of Directors award winner.
Dr Shaun Davis, Global Director of Safety, Health, Wellbeing and Sustainability at Royal Mail Group, will be a guest on the show, Well-Being Wednesdays with Noel McDermott on Men’s Radio Station, on Wednesday 1st May at 9pm.
The weekly 90-minute show is hosted by Noel McDermott, a licensed psychotherapist, discussing topical mental health issues, especially those affecting men. Every week, Noel will be joined by an expert guest who will, alongside Noel, inform listeners with practical advice and information for improving their own mental health and further the understanding of the mental health of those around them. Part of the show will be dedicated to the audience where listeners will be invited to phone in or send questions by email for discussion and advice.
On this week’s show, Dr Davis will be discussing and taking questions on mental health, specifically men’s mental health, the relationship between physical, mental and financial health, the role of employers and the role of society in affecting mental health.
Dr Davis was awarded ‘The Institute of Directors – Director of the Year (CSR Category) – London and the South’ last year in recognition of his work in mental health. In his role at Royal Mail Group, Dr Davis has led an organisation-wide health and well-being improvement programme and other programmes to improve employee engagement.
He is an experienced board member and trustee, including trustee of Men’s Health Forum, and acts as vice-chair and director of strategy for the pan-European mental health campaign ‘Target Depression in the Workplace’. He was also voted one of the 15 most influential people in health and safety by SHP Safety and Health Practitioner.
Well-Being Wednesdays with Noel McDermott launched on Men’s Radio Station in April with mental health campaigner Jon Salmon as the inaugural guest. Jon talked about what led him to become a mental health campaigner, his father’s suicide and his own struggle with depression.
