According to new statistics from leading compensation specialists, The Compensation Experts, there has been a recent rise in enquiries about public space injury information, including over 20,000 people searching for support on broken bones due to injury and accidents. Furthermore, more than 2,000 people appear to have been impacted by tripping over pavements, and just shy of this number have also been involved in a supermarket or shop injury

Delving into public spaces with a surge in injury claim searches, 3,000 people have consulted Compensation Experts for information on being involved in a work accident. In comparison, 2,700 people have looked into support for accidents on school property.

Using data gathered from Reddit /LegalAdviceUK, which supports 878,000 members and exists to provide legal support across the nation, we’re breaking down 15 of the strangest public injuries according to posted stories, from shocking carnival ride injuries to broken bones caused by restaurant furniture, including how likely it is that each person could get compensation.

With summer breaks and events season in full swing, The Compensation Experts share settlements from past claimants of public accidents varying from £1,200 to a whopping £23,000 due to slips and falls in beer gardens and caravan parks.

Charlotte Rennox, head of organic search at The Compensation Experts, said: “The risk of experiencing an injury in a public space is very much dependent on those who are in a position of responsibility, and how well they are able to safeguard the public. Working in this sector, we have built close relationships with our partner law firms, and have become all too familiar with the numerous ways in which an individual can become vulnerable to slips, trips and falls.

“But the research we have conducted on the more ‘freak’ incidents is even more of an eye-opener. It really does drive home the importance of ensuring that the proper safety processes are in place at all times and that any risks are both delivered effectively by those in power – and are clearly understood by the other party.”

In light of these new findings, The Compensation Experts has investigated the strangest public injuries which have taken place across the UK, as reported on Reddit.

Using data gathered from Reddit /LegalAdviceUK, which supports 878,000 members and exists to provide legal support across the nation, The Compensation Experts has analysed a range of freak accidents across the nation, including shocking carnival ride injuries which impacted a child, to face stitches caused by an unmarked glass door, including how likely it is that each person could get compensation.
