The Mental Health Blog Awards 2024 took place on Saturday 19th October, recognising the inspiring efforts of content creators, advocates, and individuals who have made significant contributions to mental health awareness. Hosted online, the event celebrated a diverse range of voices who continue to champion mental health through blogs, vlogs, podcasts, and social media.

Among the winners was Dennis Relojo-Howell, founder of Psychreg, who took home the prestigious “Vlogger of the Year” award. Relojo-Howell, who also hosts The DRH Show, was recognised for his commitment to bringing mental health and psychological discussions to the forefront through engaging video content. Upon receiving the award, he expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasised the importance of creating accessible content around mental health.

“The DRH Show features a range of guests from the mental health and psychology fields, giving them a platform to share their insights, research, and lived experiences. I’m honoured to have been awarded Vlogger of the Year and hope to continue contributing to the mental health conversation through Psychreg,” Relojo-Howell said.

The event, which began at 3pm, featured a variety of sessions exploring key aspects of mental health. Attendees heard from Jenny Okolo on advancing mental health through sensory integration, followed by Anna Reel’s discussion on the impact of personality. There was also a moment of reflection and a shared signposting session before the highly anticipated awards ceremony commenced at 4pm.

Other notable winners included Priyanka from Sanity Daily, who won both “Blogger of the Year” and “Podcaster of the Year”. James, from The Morning Coffee Run, was recognised as the “Socials Champion of the Year”. Additionally, the “Project of the Year” award went to Naziat for her initiative Pearls of Wellbeing, while Bach, a high school student, received recognition as the runner-up in both the Vlogger and Blogger categories.

The Mental Health Blog Awards continues to provide a platform for individuals who are dedicated to improving mental health literacy and reducing stigma through online content. As the event drew to a close, the organisers shared their hopes for future collaborations between participants and expressed excitement for next year’s event, MHBA25.
