Does your performance reflect your potential? Here, a lifestyle coach and productivity hacker shares his top tips to help you reach your peak performance and cognitive capacity, and achieve success.

For the last five years, founder and host of the UK’s number one peak performance podcast Take FLIGHT, Mark Whittle, has been travelling the world, speaking with the highest achieving performers to uncover the mindset, philosophies, and daily habits required to help you reach your peak performance.

Mark comments: ‘Success doesn’t happen overnight. It requires not only hard work, but preparation, focus, intent, and time. Here, I’ve put together my top tips and tools that you can implement into your own lives to help drive your performance, reach your full potential, and achieve success, no matter what the field.’

Set SMART goals

Goal setting is one of many strategies that can help you to achieve your peak performance. Not only does the process of setting goals influence our productivity levels, but it’s also been shown to increase motivation and self-confidence. Whether they are professional or personal, try setting goals that are SMART, meaning:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Realistic
  • Time-bound

Wake up early

How and when you start your day can influence your performance. Try setting your alarm an hour earlier and following Robin Sharma’s 20/20/20 formula for success, dividing your time into three equal blocks of exercise, reflection and learning. The 20/20/20 formula is a powerful method to programme yourself so that you can jump-start your morning with clarity, energy, and power.

Take a cold shower

Although we love the comfort of a nice long warm shower, research suggests that taking a cold shower in the morning can help to increase your focus and make you feel more alert. The cold temperatures also stimulate blood flow, essentially forcing our heart to pump more efficiently. Improved circulation means better heart health, mental performance, strengthened immune system, and metabolism.

Fuel your body

We all know how great a healthy diet is for your body, but did you know that some foods can boost your productivity by nourishing your brain? In fact, certain nutrients can feed your mind and create long-lasting energy to help you stay focused and productive all day long. If you’re serious about reaching your peak performance, try swapping out junk food for productivity-boosting foods such as eggs, fish, nuts, and avocados. Fuel your body for success.

Try an energy supplement with clinically proven ingredients

Success is no accident. Accomplishing all the things you need and want to do requires continuous energy and focus. That’s why Whittle recommends long-lasting energy supplements such as Pro Plus Ultra to all his clients wanting to improve their performance, both physically and mentally.

Pro Plus Ultra is the UK’s first energy supplement to contain a unique blend of vitamins B6 and B12, adaptogens such as ashwagandha, and slow-release caffeine that is clinically proven to provide a sustained energy release throughout your day, helping to aid focus and productivity. Unlike other energy supplements, Pro Plus Ultra provides a sustained release of caffeine to help keep you energised and alert throughout the day, without unwanted highs or lows.

Rest and rejuvenate

Sleep is crucial to reaching your peak performance. Getting enough good quality sleep helps to increase focus and productivity, memory and learning, motivation, reaction times, and regulates stress. Insufficient sleep is linked to weight gain, sub-par performance, and health complications like heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. Whilst everyone’s sleep needs are different, experts generally agree that adults need 7–9 hours of sleep each night.

Increase your energy and reach your peak performance and cognitive capacity with new Pro Plus Ultra. Pro Plus Ultra retails for £6.99 and is available to purchase from Superdrug.
