Affirming their status as category leaders in the European digital health industry, men’s health startup Numan has acquired Vi-Health, a pioneering medical science and healthcare technology company based in Sweden.
Vi Health’s platform is registered as a Class I Medical Device. It includes an AI-powered symptom checker, advanced e-consultation tools (such as collaborative chat, voice and video consultations), and workflow automation tools. In combination they have been shown to reduce the workload faced by a clinical team by as much as 70%, in trials run by the company in Sweden.
The technology extends Numan’s Clinic OS, and accelerates the company’s journey towards becoming a holistic, full-stack, digital health provider. The majority of the Vi-Health team will also be joining Numan, whilst continuing to work from their offices in Stockholm and Malmö.
Sokratis Papafloratos, founder and CEO of Numan, said, “Vi-health is an exceptional company and was the perfect fit for us in terms of vision, IP and skills. We want Numan to be your first step on a journey to better health and wellbeing, and Vi Health’s technology and IP help us get there faster. More importantly, the team was a big driver behind our decision to make the acquisition. It’s a group of people full of talent, deep expertise, and a passion about changing healthcare for the better, on a global scale. We’re all very excited to be working together.”
Numan is a holistic healthcare brand for men. It covers a range of conditions using a deeply therapeutic model, which combines prescription medication and proprietary OTC products, pathology and screening, along with doctor consultations. Since 2019 it has helped 150,000 patients and recruited 300,000 men to its platform, who in total have engaged in 1.4M digital consultations.
The company which is building a next generation, full-stack consumer healthcare provider will continue aggressive expansion organically and potentially through further M&A activity.
