Reading Time: 3 minutes

A running study by performance footwear brand HOKA has analysed over 60 10K runs to determine the top 18 podcasts that make runners faster, with Newscast, You’re Dead To Me and That Peter Crouch Podcast being the podcasts that encourage the best performance and will help you to stay consistent.

The new year often encourages the setting of new health goals, and running is becoming one of the most popular activities to do so, with more than 60,000 Google searches every month.

In fact, podcasts for fitness are also trending. UK searches for terms including “running podcast”, “exercise podcast” and “marathon podcast” have increased by 62% in the past year, with the ratio of UK searches for “running podcast” higher than those for “running playlist” (62% versus 43%), suggesting a growing interest in exercise-related podcasts.

To help runners stay consistent with their exercise in the new year, a new study by HOKA uncovers exactly which podcasts can improve running tempo in 2024, as well as those that can hinder.

For those looking to improve their running time but prefer something more serious, opt to listen to Society and Culture genre podcasts such as Happy Place or Stuff You Should Know. Research by HOKA showed that listening to this genre could shave your 10K time down by almost a minute.
