Modapills is a medication under the brand name Provigil. Modafinil is a medication that is used to treat problems of sleepiness. Sleepiness is the state of being lethargic and tired during the daytime over a long period, and in addition, this can be caused by a condition known as narcolepsy.

Furthermore, Modapills is also used as a treatment for various other sleep disorders such as shift work sleep disorder, in which people have trouble staying awake during work hours, and their routine prevents people from having a normal sleep pattern, as well as obstructive sleep apnoea, in which people have difficulty breathing while asleep, thus being an obstacle in peacefully sleeping.

Modafinil/Modapills is a prescribed drug, and its use is highly damaging for those users who a doctor does not prescribe. This drug is very strong and is a highly effective medication that does not substitute for proper sleeping. This drug should only be used to treat abnormal sleep conditions once diagnosed by a doctor. It should not be used for personal reasons which have not been discussed with a doctor.

Modafinil has many promoting agents whose effects are still fully unknown as to how it can cause damaging results to the body. It should be used carefully and should not be used to treat tiredness or to keep sleep away for those not diagnosed with a sleep disorder. This medication is known to be a constituent of agents released in the brain and can control the sleep and wake cycle of a person, affecting their daily lives.

The research discovered that the US military used this drug to increase their non-sleep span, so mental alertness and effectiveness in mental fatigue could increase without being a hurdle in their work. Unfortunately, this drug has been becoming available to non-prescribed users in various illegal ways.

Getting Modapills prescribed

After a doctor prescribes this medicative drug, this medication should be taken based upon the sleep disorder. Normally, this medication is taken as a tablet, once a day, with or without food. The timing or dosage of the drug will be told to the person by their doctor or even the pharmacist.

If a person suffering from narcolepsy or OSAHS is taking this medication, they will eat the tablet in the morning. It should be remembered that the timing of taking medicine should be consistent and continuous. One should not change their timings without referring and discussing it with their doctor.

An individual should, before taking the medication, read the prescription label carefully, and if any questions come up in their mind, the person should not be hesitant to ask their doctor. Also, before taking the modafinil pills, precaution needs to be taken.

If a person has an allergic reaction or any skin problem, they should immediately seek help from their doctor, as this medicine can cause people to have severe reactions to it, and they can end up in the hospital.

People should also immediately stop taking this medicine if they have trouble breathing, dark urine, yellowing of eyes or skin, or even swelling of the skin. In addition, a person already suffers from diseases such as kidney disease, angina (chest pain), high blood pressure, cirrhosis, then the doctor should be well notified.

If a dosage is missed, the person should not make up, and instead, skip that dose and take another at the right prescribed time. Also, people taking this medication need to be careful not to take more than the prescribed dosage, as overdosage can adversely affect health.

Side effects

This drug also has many sides effects. If a person feels these side effects or any other change in their physical health, they should refer to their doctor immediately. The side effects include headaches, dizziness, constipation, heartburn, diarrhoea, sweating, flushing, and other side effects.
