Kimberly Hershenson is a New York City-based therapist specialising in eating disorders, addiction, motherhood issues (pregnancy, infertility, miscarriage), treating orthodox Jewish men and women, and treating clients in the entertainment industry. Kimberly comes from a legal background where she practised entertainment law and intellectual property before transitioning to mental health. 

She graduated from Columbia University’s School of Social Work and is certified in CBT for eating disorders through Professor Christopher Fairburn of the Centre for Research on Eating Disorders at Oxford. She trained in motivational interviewing and dialectical behaviour therapy by Behavioural Tech, Marsha Linehan’s training company, and is also skilled in applying psychodynamic therapy and working with clients in 12-Step programme.

Her research interests include motherhood and addiction, the LGBT population and eating disorders and co-occurring addictions. She is an active member of the organisation Project HEAL, which provides grant funding for people with eating disorders and She Recovers, which supports women in recovery from addiction and mental illness. She is serves as one of the reviewers for Psychreg Journal of Psychology.
