Hyeok Lim writes practical philosophy and fiction about responsibility, attention, choice, and relationships. He also publishes as Mangnanyong. His practical-philosophy books use openly fictional situations to examine the choices hidden in everyday life; they are not clinical guidance or accounts of personal parenting experience.
His English-language titles include The Father Who Notices, on the less visible work of family life, and Who Carries the Care?, on duty, consent, and fairness when ageing parents need help. Under Mangnanyong he has published fiction such as Undeliverable, a novel set in a provincial Korean post office about two people whose obligations keep them from choosing each other. Further writing appears on his Substack, and retailer samples are offered so readers can judge whether a particular subject is useful to them.
