Free Online Summit Aims to Close the Gap Between Knowing and Actually Changing

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Quick summary: A free six-day virtual summit running from 24th–29th September 2026 examines why people often understand what needs to change in their lives yet fail to sustain that change, pointing to identity, habits, environment and support systems rather than motivation alone as the deciding factors. For readers, this reframes stalled personal progress as a structural and psychological issue rather than a character failing, which has implications for how coaches, educators and mental health practitioners support clients through goal setting and recovery from setbacks. Practical tools such as a diagnostic assessment and a personalised action guide are offered as ways to translate insight into a workable plan, addressing a gap that often undermines well being and long term behaviour change efforts.

Millions of people know exactly what they need to do to improve their lives, yet still find themselves stuck in the same patterns year after year. A new free virtual event is setting out to explore why that gap between insight and action is so hard to close, and what might help people finally cross it.

The Transformation Gap Summit will run online from 24th–29th September 2026. It is hosted by Kelsey Dunbar and Marc Rogala, founders of the coaching brand Suffer to Tougher, and brings together researchers, authors, coaches and people with lived experience of significant personal change.

Rather than framing personal transformation as simply a matter of willpower or motivation, the summit focuses on the deeper conditions that make change stick. Organisers point to identity, habits, environment and support systems as the real factors that decide whether a goal becomes a lasting shift or another abandoned attempt.

The six-day programme is structured around six connected themes, covering identity and inner transformation, habits and behaviour change, health and performance, relationships, business growth and guidance for those who support others through change. It is aimed both at individuals working through personal difficulties or goals, and at coaches, educators and leaders who guide other people’s growth.

The event’s core idea is a familiar one for many people. They may have read the self help books, watched the videos and absorbed the advice, yet still find themselves repeating the same cycles or restarting the same resolution. The summit aims to help attendees understand what is quietly keeping that pattern in place rather than simply offering more information to consume.

Everyone who registers for free will receive a three-part Transformation Gap Starter Kit. This includes a diagnostic tool built from 75 statements designed to help people identify their primary sticking point, a field guide that introduces a framework for looking beneath surface level symptoms, and a personal mapping exercise to help turn insight into one concrete, achievable action.

Attendees will also get early access to an AI supported personal guide, built to help them filter the summit’s content down to what is actually relevant to their own circumstances and turn it into a workable plan rather than another pile of unused notes.

Because the summit runs entirely online, participants can dip into whichever themes feel most relevant to their own lives rather than sitting through every session. Organisers say the aim is not perfect motivation or an unbroken streak of progress, but a realistic process people can return to after stress or setbacks knock them off course.

Throughout the six days, the emphasis stays on separating the visible problem from the pattern driving it, understanding what genuine change actually requires, and building support around a single achievable step forward.
