EDX Medical Group, a leader in digital diagnostics supporting personalised treatments for cancer, heart disease, and infectious diseases, has announced the appointment of Eric Vick as chief commercial officer. This key leadership move follows the company’s successful completion of several pivotal commercial agreements, positioning EDX Medical to roll out a range of cutting-edge diagnostic products across the UK and Europe.
Among the products to be launched are the most comprehensive molecular profiling solutions, developed by Caris Life Sciences, which will allow physicians to make more precise and personalised cancer treatment decisions. EDX Medical is the exclusive distributor of these tests in the UK. Additionally, the company will launch the Curesponse-developed cResponse cancer assay in markets like the UK and Scandinavia. This innovative test analyses tumour tissue to identify the most effective treatment for each individual patient. In these regions, there are almost 600,000 new solid tumour diagnoses annually.
EDX Medical will also offer genetic risk testing for hereditary cancers and heart disease, targeting an estimated 2.5 million eligible individuals in the UK. These services will be supplied through private healthcare providers and NHS Genetic and Genomic Testing Centres.
The global clinical diagnostics market is expected to grow from $80 billion to over $109 billion by 2029. With Europe being the second largest potential market, EDX Medical aims to play a key role in this rapidly expanding sector, especially in oncology, where over three million new cancer cases are diagnosed annually.
Eric Vick, an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience leading commercial teams at companies such as GSK, Novartis, and ViroPharma, will head the commercial expansion. Vick expressed his excitement about taking on the role: “There is compelling evidence of the growing demand for faster and better genomic and genetic diagnostic services. The US has pioneered this field, and now is the perfect time to make these solutions accessible in the UK and Europe.”
