Christy Osborne, a certified sobriety coach and founder of Love Life Sober, is making significant strides in helping women across the UK and US regain control of their relationship with alcohol. Her struggle and unwavering pursuit of wellbeing are what motivate and transform her from a high-functioning professional to a sobriety coach.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Osborne’s early career saw her studying political science at the University of Southern California before spending a year at the London School of Economics. During her time at Pepperdine University, where she studied law, she began to rely on alcohol to cope with the stress of her studies. This reliance on alcohol continued into her professional life in London, where she and her husband worked in Parliament.

The birth of her first child marked a significant increase in Osborne’s alcohol consumption. She began using alcohol as a reward for managing the demands of motherhood. The situation worsened after the birth of her second child, leading to post-natal depression. The combination of loneliness and being in a foreign country exacerbated her dependence on alcohol.

Osborne’s turning point came in March 2020, coinciding with the second anniversary of her mother’s passing and the onset of the Covid pandemic. She woke up with a severe hangover after her son’s birthday, realising that alcohol was taking more from her than it was giving. She decided to take a break from drinking, a decision that profoundly changed her life.

Lockdown provided Osborne with an unexpected opportunity for introspection. She began researching, reading, and seeking inspiration from women who had also embraced sobriety. As she delved deeper into understanding her relationship with alcohol, she discovered that her desire to drink dissipated. This personal transformation led her to enrol in Annie Grace’s This Naked Mind Institute to become a certified coach.

A change in Osborne’s perception of alcohol’s place in her life characterizes her journey. She questioned long-held beliefs about alcohol being a stress reliever, a social enhancer, and a tool for connection. Through her exploration, she realised that alcohol was hindering her well-being rather than enhancing it. Her newfound clarity and peace without alcohol motivated her to help other women find the same freedom.

In 2018, Osborne experienced a significant personal loss with the passing of her mother. This event plunged her into a deep depression, where alcohol became a coping mechanism. Her drinking escalated, affecting her relationships with her children and husband. It wasn’t until the pandemic that Osborne decided to take her alcohol dependency seriously.

Her sobriety journey led to the creation of Love Life Sober, an initiative aimed at empowering women to regain control of their lives without alcohol. Osborne’s coaching programmes, both one-on-one and group sessions, utilise proven techniques from the This Naked Mind Methodology. These programmes focus on helping women explore and challenge their unconscious beliefs about alcohol.

Love Life Sober offers a safe, non-judgmental space for women to navigate their relationship with alcohol. Osborne’s 12-week programmes are designed to inspire and support women through content, coaching, community, and connection. Her approach is deeply empathetic, drawing from her own experiences and struggles with alcohol.

Osborne’s work has already impacted many women, providing them with the tools and support needed to achieve sobriety and improve their overall well-being. Her upcoming book, Love Life Sober: Finding Freedom from Alcohol in 40 Days, set to be released in mid-2024, is expected to further her mission of helping women lead alcohol-free lives.

In addition to her coaching work, Osborne co-hosts the podcast “But Jesus Drank Wine & Other Stories That Kept Us Stuck,” where she shares insights and stories about sobriety and personal growth. Her journey from a high-functioning alcoholic to a sobriety coach is a testament to the power of self-reflection and the possibility of change.

Christy Osborne’s story is one of resilience and transformation. Her work through Love Life Sober continues to empower women to break free from the cycle of alcohol dependency, offering hope and a path to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
