TVD group, a leading AV technology supplier and installer of commercial audio-visual projects, has opened the TVD experience centre, focusing on core commercial sectors, including care homes.

The experience centre demonstrates integrated audio and video solutions tailored to the needs of care homes, nursing homes, and community social care venues. It offers unparalleled access and insight into the latest AV technology for the sector. Features include in-room/bedroom TVs, commercial displays such as menus/information screens, digital signage, cinema rooms, video conferencing, and digital totems. Located in the north of the UK, this new TVD group venue presents care home professionals with a unique, personal, fully-featured AV showroom experience, alongside a training and demonstration facility.

After a year-long upgrade and a £600,000 investment in its existing headquarters in Bolton, the opening of the TVD experience centre stands as a testament to a business that has been a driving force in AV technology in the north of the UK for nearly three decades. This progressive company recently transitioned to an employee-owned model, with the trust now owning 51% of the business shares.

The TVD experience centre showcases immersive display areas, innovative products, and fully integrated solutions from TVD’s key partners, including Samsung, Philips, LG, and over a dozen other big-name brands in the AV sector. These partners sent representatives to address the press during the opening.

Notable displays in the experience centre include Samsung’s £130,000 110-inch “the wall” microLED display, Vestel’s latest commercial display range, TVs from Mitchell & Brown, and premium commercial audio products. Showcased innovative technologies feature LG Electronics’ impressive LED 136-inch all-in-one smart series, Philips power-free tableaux ePaper displays, and Accenta hanging digital posters.

Originating from a TV retail business, Jim Brown and his sons, Matthew and Daniel, founded TV and video direct in 1996. It has since evolved into one of the UK’s foremost AV technology distributors to the commercial and retail trade. This includes launching their own TV brand, Mitchell & Brown. TVC technology solutions, a division of TVD group, supplies various industries, including betting, retail, leisure, hospitality, care, education, sports stadia, and corporate venues. This year, it received nominations for two major AV industry installation awards for a project completed at the Formula 1 arcade in central London.

Mat Brown, co-founder and director, commented at the event: “We aim to offer both new and existing customers a chance to explore the latest AV technologies from some of the world’s leading brands. These technologies are fully integrated into comprehensive solutions at one engaging venue in the north of the UK. The TVD experience centre offers an unparalleled personalisation level for clients in the care sector. They can discover how technology can enhance their facilities and care offerings.”

Post its official launch, the TVD experience centre plans to host a series of bespoke brand and sector-specific events. These events will cover UK product launches, integrator training, and the potential of the latest AV technology to revolutionise audience, customer, and employee engagement. TVD also aims to invite businesses to organise their small events and meetings at the experience centre. This initiative will offer businesses access to cutting-edge technology and further promote this unique venue.

TVD group’s Mitchell & Brown, known as the UK’s favourite domestic TV brand, will also utilise the venue for retailer and press launches, demonstrations, and training sessions. The experience centre will feature the brand’s latest range, from small-screen TVs to flagship QLED smart TVs designed for home cinemas.

Lucia Maguire, managing director, shared her thoughts: “With the experience centre now fully operational and our transition to employee ownership complete, our previously family-owned business is poised for strategic growth across the UK AV sector. Our dedication to our customers, service quality, and our vision of continued growth remains our core focus.”
