Protect your skin with the sun

While the sun is an essential element for life on earth, we still need to take some consideration when it comes to protecting our skin. You need to use sun protection, especially in those summer months when you visit beaches. You need to use sun protection with a minimum of SPF 30 that is right for your skin. You also need to know that it is not a set-and-forget process. You need to reapply it from time to time. Also, if possible, try to avoid being exposed in the hot hours when the sun is more intense, which are usually from 10am–2pm. 

Use soft soap for your skin

One thing you need to be aware of is that the skin tends to get dry after you shower. It is important to use skin care products that are soft. If you use strong products, you risk your skin getting too dry, which can cause some uncomfortable sensations. The best products that you can use are soaps rich on lipids. 

Considerations on the shower

When it comes to skin care, taking a shower is way better than getting in the bathtub, as this tends to dehydrate the skin. Does this mean you can take a relaxing bath? Definitely not. It is fine to take a bath from time to time, but try to avoid staying in the water for prolonged periods of time. 

Learn how to properly dry your skin

Towards the end of your shower, make sure you rinse your body to make sure you don’t have any residual products on your body. Once you have finished your shower, the correct way to dry your skin is to gently tap your skin. You need to avoid rubbing your skin with the towel until it is dry.

Hydrate your skin

Create a habit to hydrate your skin on a daily basis. After you’ve taped your skin, use a cream to hydrate it. Using a hydration cream will help you repair the hydrolipid film that covers the whole epidermis of your skin. You need to consider the fact that while all skins need to be hydrated, not all skins are hydrated the same way. Consult your skin specialist to understand the proper way to hydrate your skin type.

Wrap yourself

You’ve probably realised that your skin can become extremely sensitive during the winter. Extreme temperatures tend to dry your skin, creating an itchy feeling. So as soon as temperature gets lower, use your jacket to keep your skin warm and protected. Most people forget about their hands in these conditions, so don’t forget to use some gloves to protect the skin on your hands.

Eat properly and stay hydrated

Being hydrated is a necessary requirement for having beautiful skin. Make sure you drink enough water during the day; aim for at least 8 glasses of water a day. a glass of water when you wake up, tea for breakfast, mineral water throughout the day, herbal tea in the evening…. this way, you can fulfil all your daily duties!

Also, your diet is important as well. Every day, you should eat five servings of fruits and vegetables, rich in antioxidants. This will help keep your skin beautiful and healthy.

A last tip before you go

Your skin is the biggest organ of your body, so everything you do to make your body healthy, will make your skin look amazing. You need to get enough sleep to make your skin radiantly healthy! Your body needs a certain amount of sleep to be healthy: 7, 8, 9 hours. In fact, the need for sleep is genetically determined.

Avoid smoking, as it is not good for your skin or to your overall health. Smoking is very harmful to the skin. It leaves the complexion dull and dull and makes the skin age faster. This is a good reason to put out your last cigarette, don’t you think?
