Berney Wilkinson earned his PhD in school psychology from the University of South Florida in 2005, specialising in paediatric psychology. He went on to complete a postgraduate programme and is a Diplomate with the American Board of School Neuropsychology. He is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida and owns a private practice that includes other psychologists and counsellors.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Berney is an adjunct professor for Webster University, an adjunct instructor for Florida Southern College, and a visiting instructor for the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He teaches courses on a variety of topics, including psychological assessment, research, test development, psychodiagnostics, psychopharmacology, abnormal psychology, and special education. Berney sits on the editorial board of Psychreg Journal of Psychology.
Dr Berney is the coauthor of the Handbook for Raising an Emotionally Healthy Child (which is currently in revision) and the Pediatric Behavior Rating Scale. He authors a weekly column in his local newspaper, maintains a blog, and co-hosts The Mental Breakdown Podcast (iTunes, Google Play Music, and YouTube) and the Psychreg Podcast.
