Voula Grand is a business psychologist and novelist. Her professional practice focuses on the development of leaders in global corporations. She has 30 years’ experience working with teams and individuals using a range of psychological techniques to enhance performance. Grand has been a member of the British Psychological Society since her student days and is now an Associate Fellow.
Her first novel, Honor’s Shadow, about the psychology of betrayal and revenge, was published by Karnac in 2011. She is one of the authors of the BPS Book of the Year The Psychology Book published by DK in 2013. She writes a blog discussing aspects of writing and psychology. She did her BSc Psychology (Hons) at London School of Economics, followed by MA in Creative Writing from Birkbeck, University of London in 2006. As a chartered psychologist, she is the founder of Grand Shearman Consulting where she offers consulting jobs into industry as leadership psychologist for executive and leadership teams. Her clients are typically highly valued executives and teams at the most senior levels in their organisations. As well as her capacity to offer performance coaching for specified needs, she also offers a year-long programme of depth leadership development for executives who wish to engage in a full review of their leadership character, with a view to playing to their strengths in current and future roles.
She particularly likes to apply her acute understanding of energetic and emotional functioning and dynamics to her work. Experience has demonstrated that this is always a new source of insight, with the capacity to unlock new energy and focus on future goals. She lives in Buckinghamshire with husband Paul, and mother and stepmother to five adult sons and daughters. She has been recently interviewed by her daughter, Melanthe Grand, for The Psychologist.
