The Health and Well-being research group at Victoria University of Wellington welcomes submissions to its flash fiction contest ‘Tell me where it hurts’. Stories of no more than 250 words on this subject can be sent to email@example.com before 15 October for consideration. Stories should be submitted by email as word files, with the subject line ‘Flash Fiction’.
They will be judged by prominent New Zealand creative writers and professors, Harry Ricketts and Damien Wilkins. The top entries will receive accolades and praise, and any prizes we can rouse between now and the end-of-year get-together hosted by the Health and Well-being research group.
We understand that Vic Books will probably have a book or two to give away to the best entries.
Authors who cannot attend will be given the opportunity to read their prize-winning stories virtually.
